$377,208 for the Chaleur Regional Hospital

Bathurst – Thanks to the concerted efforts of various committees and volunteers and the generosity of the community, the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation’s 2021 Annual Campaign was a great success. It exceeded its $350,000 objective by raising more than $377,208.86. The Roses Radiothon, the Charity Golf Classic and the Northern Star are among the major fundraising activities of the Annual Campaign.

The funds raised will be used to purchase equipment for the Chaleur Regional Hospital in the areas of operating room, Electrodiagnosis, Obstetrics, Medical Imaging and the Orthopedic Outpatient Clinic. Here are the details:

  • Pieces of equipment that will allow certain procedures to be done in the outpatient department rather than in the operating room, thereby freeing up operating rooms;
  • A system for procedures that require difficult intubation;
  • A high performance incubator with resuscitation system and phototherapy for newborns;
  • A stretcher for transferring patients to the Magnetic Resonance Imaging machine;
  • Cardiac monitors to increase the number of tests possible and thus reduce waiting times;
  • An automated breast ultrasound machine.

“The Foundation shines through the concerted efforts of all our special committees. I want to thank all the volunteers and donors. By working together, we are creating a positive impact for our community by providing the means to have the best equipment while supporting our health care staff.” Mr. Jean-Guy-Robichaud, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation.

Mr. Hollis Chamberlain, Chair of the 2021 Annual Campaign, concluded by adding, “None of this would be possible without the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our donors. Thanks to you, patients will be able to benefit from quality care in our region.”
