THE ROSES RADIOTHON : ANOTHER YEAR, ANOTHER SUCCESS

The Radiothon des Roses, an event organized by the Acadie-Bathurst Hospital Foundations, was held today and, again this year, it was a great success. The goal of $ 150,000 was easily reached, totaling $ 191,388.

It is also important to note that of this amount, $ 114,163 will be donated to the Chaleur Regional Hospital for the fight against cancer and that $ 77,225 has been raised for the annual campaigns of the Acadian Peninsula institutions; the money will be used to meet the needs of these institutions.

“I want to thank the Rose Roses Committee, the volunteers and all the donors for their generosity. Thanks to you, health care will be more accessible here. Your donation makes all the difference, “said Ms. Jessica Ward, spokesperson for the 12th Rose Radiothon and mother of Jeremiah, a young boy with brain and spinal cord cancer.

This year, some of the money raised will improve two areas, Ambulatory Care and the Oncology Clinic. The other part will be given to the annual campaigns of the Acadian Peninsula.
In Ambulatory Care, a specialized device will make breast reconstruction much more accessible to patients who have had a mastectomy.

At the Oncology Clinic, a phlebotomy chair and weight chair will help improve patient comfort. In addition, specialized chairs will be purchased for children and educational games for young people who are to undergo treatment at the Oncology Clinic.
